Exploring the Aurora Theatre in the 1950s: The Tall Texan and Ads from the Summer of 1953

Take a look at the Aurora Theatre sometime in the 1950s. After doing a bit of research, we see that The Tall Texan, with Lloyd Bridges, was released in 1953. Check out some ads for the movie from the summer of 1953 and some great stuff on the theater from Kilduffs.

This is a view of the Aurora Theatre sometime in the 1950s. And, after doing a little digging, we see that The Tall Texan, with Lloyd Bridges — the Big Lebowski’s real life dad — was released in 1953 (and wasn’t really a good movie). Poking around a little more, we see ads for the movie in the summer between July and August, so it’s safe to say that this photo is from the summer of 1953.

Kilduffs also has some great stuff on the theater. Check it out.
